DESCRIPTION: The Engineering, Test , and Analysis Business Unit
(ETABU) headquartered in Albuquerque NM is seeking a senior
level Contracts professional with a minimum of 15 years of extensive
government contracts experience and proven management and leadership
skills to support existing and new business activities. The
ETABU is experiencing explosive growth and looks forward to
realizing an ambitious future business plan. This is a high
visibility position, which reports directly to the Business
Unit General Manager. The Business Unit Director of Contracts
(BUDC) manages and facilitates the contracts function by establishing
and implementing policy and procedures and providing oversight
for the Business Unit’s operations. The BUDC will coordinate
interaction with corporate and Group level resources on behalf
of the ETABU to resolve complex contractual problems, conduct
negotiations, perform risk identification, avoidance or mitigation,
interpret policy and resolve other inter-organizational issues.
The BUDC participates as a strategic and critical member of
the BU’s senior management team and is integral to the
development of bid strategy and review and submission of competitive
business proposals. The individual selected must work with the
Business Unit’s operations managers, division managers,
programs managers as well as managers within business development,
finance, human resources, and project control organizations,
to secure new business, ensure customer satisfaction and to
deliver outstanding performance to our customers. The BUDC plays
an important role in business acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions,
developing relationships in target business areas, and long
term strategic business development.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related field)
required. Masters degree preferred.
REQUIRED
SKILLS: Comprehensive knowledge of government contracting and
relevant regulations, policies and practices required. Ability
to complete difficult and complex assignments on schedule. Comprehensive
experience in contract administration, procurement management,
business and contract law, finance and accounting or equivalent
business-related areas. Demonstrated management and interpersonal
skills and be able to communicate effectively, both internally
with technical staff, peers and management as well as externally
with customers, regulators and others. Excellent analytical,
strategic, and reasoning skills are required, as well as the
ability to create and communicate logic behind complex business
models and solutions.
DESIRED
SKILLS: Previous company experience and in-depth knowledge of
company policies and procedures preferred. Experience with firm
fixed price as well as performance-based contracting is a plus.
